Have you ever wondered about different dishes you could try to add a little more excitement to your cuisine? If so, then this excellent honey soy chicken and rice recipe could be just what you need. Combining numerous delicious ingredients into a single dish that’s surprisingly easy to make (although perhaps a little time-consuming), this dish is a wonderful option both as a weeknight family meal or for impressing guests.
Before we go any further, we should first briefly outline what honey soy chicken and rice is. This particular recipe is pretty much what it sounds like: it’s a simple combination of honey and soy sauce to create a rich marinade, adding a delicious sweetness to your cooking. The recipe is exceptionally easy to cook and simple to serve, but it could quickly become a staple in your household.
If you’d like to make honey soy chicken and rice for yourself or your family, don’t panic – the steps are actually incredibly simple!
First, take one cup of honey, one cup of soy sauce, and half a cup of vegetable oil, and combine together in a large bowl. Then, add in 2 minced cloves of garlic, five small diced onions, and two diced bell peppers; these help add a little extra kick to the recipe, but if you’re in a rush, these could be left out. Combine until thoroughly mixed, then add two pounds of diced chicken – ideally breast – and allow to marinate for an hour in the refrigerator.
During this time, the chicken should begin picking up the delicious flavors of the marinade, so try not to disturb it too much at this point. Then, add this mixture to a hot pan, and cook thoroughly until the chicken is thoroughly cooked.
In a separate saucepan or bowl, prepare around two cups of white rice (or a rice variety of your preference).
Spread the rice between each individual plate once thoroughly cooked, making a small well in the middle of each pile. Add a generous serving of chicken and sauce to this well, and serve up while still piping hot. If desired, you could also serve this with a side of peas and sweetcorn to add a little more to the dish; alternatively, you could mix these into the rice if it is catering to fussier eaters.
If you have been looking for a new recipe to add to your collection, you can prepare this delightful dish exceptionally easily for a delicious meal that’ll impress anyone.
Of course, if you’re in a hurry, the recipe can be simplified down simply by combining a little soy sauce, honey, and diced chicken breast fillets; still, if you ask us, putting in the extra time to make the dish special is more than worth it. So, why not give this a try – you might just be amazed by how amazing this seemingly simple dish can be!
