Southern Fried Pork Chops

April 2, 2022

Southern fried pork chops are tender and juicy on the inside and golden brown and crispy on the outside. They make for the perfect Sunday dinner.

Southern fried chicken gets all the hype, but what about pork chops? Pork Chops can be fried with the same ingredients used in frying chicken. They are great for dinners and potlucks.

What types of pork chops are best for frying?

I prefer using boneless thin cut pork chops. They are easy to fry and have a very short frying time. You can use, the bone-in and thicker cut pork chops. Just remember the thicker the chops the longer the cooking time. It’s best to use a meat thermometer frying pork chops.

Ingredients for pork chops:

How to make Southern Fried Pork Chops

  1. Mix the milk and beaten eggs in a bowl together and add flour to a separate bowl.
  2. Using Med-high heat, heat the pan with vegetable oil.
  3. While the pan is heating, pat dry the pork chops and season with salt and pepper.
  4. When pan is heated, first dip the pork chops into the egg mixture, then dip into the flour. (I like to double dip, but this option is up to you). Shake off any excessive flour and add pork chops to the pan.
  5. Lower stop temperature to medium heat and let pork chops fry for about 5 minutes and then turnover. Please note: Depending on size and thickness of porkchops frying times may differ.
  6. When inside temperature reaches 145 Fahrenheit. carefully remove from pan and transfer to a plate.
