Smothered pork chops

These Smothered Pork Chops are lightly breaded, pan-fried and smothered in a rich and creamy onion gravy. They are the perfect pork chop dinner recipe.

Smothered pork chops are a southern comfort classic of pan-fired pork chops covered in a rich and creamy onion gravy made with heavy cream. Smothered pork chops go great with creamy mashed potatoes or rice dishes. These pork chops are one of my family’s favorite dishes.

Don’t be overwhelmed with the list of ingredients. Most of the ingredients for Smothered pork chops are staples, that you most probably already have in your pantry.

What pork chops should I use?

I prefer using thin boneless pork chops. They are easier to sear and take less time to cook. If you choose to use thicker cut pork chops or bone in chops the cooking time will be longer. I recommend using a meat thermometer to check doneness of chops.
