Libby's Pumpkin Pie

Pumpkin pie is a dessert pie with a spiced, pumpkin based custard filling. Pumpkin pie a symbol of harvest time, and pumpkin pie is generally eaten during the fall and early winter. In the United States and Canda, it is traditionally prepared for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other occasions when pumpkin is in season.

Carnation evaporated milk

Sugar

Salt-

Eggs

Deep Dish pie shell

SpicesGround Cinamon, Ground ginger, ground cloves

How to Make Libby’s Famous Pumpkin Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 425.
  2. Mix Sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves in a small mixing bowl. Beat eggs in a large mixing bowl. Stir dry ingredients and pumpkin into beaten eggs.  Combine ingredients well.
  3. Pour into pie shell.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350, bake for 30-40 minutes or until knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
  5. Cool on wire rack for 2 hours. Serve immediately or refrigerate. 

Storage:

Pumpkin pie is best served warm, but should be wrapped in plastic wrapped and stored in the refrigerator after the pie has cooled. Reheat pie in preheated oven for 20 minutes or until warm. Pie can be refrigerated for up to four days.

Pie can also be frozen for up to three months. When ready to serve, thaw pie in refrigerator overnight and then back.
