Homemade Sausage Gravy

Sausage Gravy is a popular dish in the United States, especially in the south. A creamy white gravy with sausage, and often seasoned with black pepper for flavor is served over hot biscuits.

What goes with Sausage Gravy:


Homemade Sausage Gravy is most often served over biscuits but can be served with other breakfast favorites such as, served over eggs, served over grits, or over sliced tomatoes.

Sausage gravy also goes well with hashbrowns and fried potatoes.

Equipment:

Ingredients:

Ground Sausage– 1 pound ground sausage such as Jimmy Dean.

All-purpose Flour

Butter

Milk

Garlic powder

Salt

black pepper

How to make Sausage Gravy:

Brown the sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat until no longer pink.

Add the butter to the pan. Stir it around until melted.

Sprinkle the flour over the sausage and stir.

Slowly whisk in the milk.

Whisk in garlic powder, salt, and pepper. 

Serve over your favorite biscuits. 

Storing leftovers:

Store leftover gravy in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. To reheat gravy: add gravy to saucepan over low-medium heat. Heat until warm.
