Blueberry Cobbler

Blueberry Cobbler is a dessert consisting of a blueberry filling poured into a large baking dish and covered with a batter before being baked.


When it comes to Cobbler’s, peach cobbler gets all the hype, but if you love blueberries, you may like this blueberry cobbler. Blueberry cobbler is so easy to make and can be made with fresh, canned of frozen blueberries, making it great year-round. With blueberries and a few pantry staples, you can make Blueberry Cobbler in less than an hour.

Equipment:

Ingredients:

Blueberries- Two cups fresh, frozen, or caned blueberries can be used to make cobbler.

All-purpose flour-

Butter- You will need 6 tablespoons of butter

Sugar-Granulated sugar

Salt-

Milk-I recommend using whole milk, but 2% and fat free work just as well.

Cinnamon– Sprinkling cinnamon over top adds such a sweet and Savoury flavor.

Making Cobbler with Fresh Blueberries:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Slice butter into pieces and add to a 9×13-inch baking dish. Place the pan in the oven while it preheats, to allow the butter to melt. Once the butter has melted, remove pan from the oven and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk, just until combined.
  3. Rinse blueberries and add them to a separate bowl with 1 tablespoon of sugar. Combine well.
  4. Pour the batter into the pan, over the melted butter and smooth it into an even layer.
  5. Spoon blueberries over the batter.  Sprinkle cinnamon over the top.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for about 40-45 minutes.

Instructions for Frozen Blueberries:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Slice butter into pieces and add to a 9×13-inch baking dish. Place the pan in the oven while it preheats, to allow the butter to melt. Once the butter has melted, remove pan from the oven and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk, just until combined.
  3. In a separate bowl add frozen blueberries and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Combine well.
  4. Pour the batter into the pan, over the melted butter and smooth it into an even layer.
  5. Spoon blueberries over the batter.  Sprinkle cinnamon over the top.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for about 40-45 minutes.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Slice butter into pieces and add to a 9×13-inch baking dish. Place the pan in the oven while it preheats, to allow the butter to melt. Once the butter has melted, remove pan from the oven and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk, just until combined.
  3. Pour the batter into the pan, over the melted butter and smooth it into an even layer.
  4. Spoon blueberries over the batter.  Sprinkle cinnamon over the top.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for about 40-45 minutes.

Storage and Reheating:

Blueberry cobbler is best enjoyed warm. Leftover cobbler can be covered and stored in the fridge for 3-4 minutes.

You can reheat Blueberry Cobbler in the microwave or the oven. To reheat in the microwave place on a microwave safe plate and heat for 102 minutes. To reheat in the oven, bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes or until warmed through.
